WHEN FIGHTING, DON’T FIGHT LIKE THE WORLD, FIGHT WITH THE WORD.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6 (NKJV)

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

I have come to realize in the past few months that Satan does not fight fair. I must also say that as Christians we don’t always play or fight fair either?  Many times, without even knowing it, we have taken on the ways of the world in our decision making, our prayers, and our life in general.  As we renew our minds to the Word of God we will see where the world systems have infiltrated our lives. This is when we repent and ask God to change our minds, wills, and emotions to match His word, will, and way.

In the Book of Mark, Jesus was driven into the wilderness by the Spirit.  Jesus won the battle of the flesh through the Word by only using the Word of God to defeat Satan, the enemy of His soul.  No matter how great the temptation, Jesus only allowed the Word of God to fight for Him.  Our greatest weapon against Satan or our flesh is “It Stands Written”! The Word will fight for you as you minister the word into your soul and spirit. When the pressure is on the Word will minister to you and then for you.  What you have put in your spirit and soul should be what comes out.  Let me put it in Country terms, “As you work the Word in you, the Word will work for you”.

Today will you check your heart to see what you have been putting in it? Is the Word of God your priority? Is His presence your desire? Is His Spirit your companion in all you do and say?  Romans 3:23 (NKJV) 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. There is not one person who has not failed God as a Christian.  However, do we continue to fail or do we pick ourselves up and say, “God, I have allowed the ways of the world to creep into my heart and I repent now Lord Jesus”.  Ask Him to fill you with His love, Spirit, and hope so nothing will be allowed to come between you and Jesus.

Psalms 119:11-18 (NKJV) gives us some guidelines to keep us from fighting like the world and its system:
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You! In the heat of battle choose the Word.
12 Blessed are You, O Lord! Teach me Your statutes! Be teachable. Jesus is the greatest teacher of all!
13 With my lips I have declared All the judgments of Your mouth.  There is power in the Word, speak it!
14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches.  Praise your way out of trouble into triumph!
15 I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways.  Keep your mind stayed on the Word and His Spirit.
16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.  Enjoy Jesus, don’t look for a battle, and look for a victory.
17 Deal bountifully with Your servant, That I may live and keep Your word.  Conviction is powerful; it will defuse the enemy’s power.
18 Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law.  Be alert to divine moments in your life to bring God

The Word of God says in Proverbs 23:7a “so a man thinks so he becomes”, if we think like the world we will operate in the worlds systems.  When we renew our minds daily, Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”, we will operate in God’s system and we can see His glory in all we do even if we have to fight.
