A LIFE OF BALANCE; a life of peace; a life of order; do those phrases stir a longing deep inside you?

Have you gotten to the point that your to-do lists have lists? Then, to make matters even more frustrating. you can't find your list. I heard it put this way by one of my favorite pastors: "Do you feel like you are stuck in the cul-de-sac of life? Are you on the wheel of life, going nowhere?

Yes, I have been there: stuck in the cul-de-sac of life without different results. Doing the same thing day after day but expecting different results has been called insanity! For many years my husband, Tim, and I lived on a cul-de-sac; our children were allowed to play there. They would ride their bikes because there were only three homes on the cul-de-sac. All the neighbors had children, so we all knew they were there and they were safe. We also knew they could go nowhere from there. When they were small, they rode their bikes very happily, until they figured out that they were going nowhere.

Like our children, I too came to a point that I became so tired of going in circles and getting nowhere that I was desperate enough to ask God for help. Today's verse reminds me that disorder or confusion is not of God. Our God is a God of peace and order. Does this mean we never have hard times or bad things go on in our lives? No. It just means in the midst of the storms of life we have God's mind and His peace as a director of balance.

God sent His Son for our lives to have godly order, in spite or chaos.

I began to seek God's help in taking a hard right out or the cul-de-sac of nowhere, in order to realize I could enjoy the peace and balance God intends for me by choosing His plans for me over the world's demands on me.

Going nowhere will wear you out and keep you from doing well for Christ. God is calling you to His presence to fill you with His power and give you direction to move out of the cul-de-sac. To move from just existing to a life of power, love, and movement. A life of living for His glory. Will you say yes?

How does one say yes? The first step in getting out of the mediocrity cul-de-sac of nowhere is giving up time from sleep to be with the King of Glory. Say yes to a daily prayer time each morning before you meet your family or leave for work. Pray, communicate with God, and then obey His word and direction for this day. Let yesterday's failures go, and obey today what God has for you to do. Sacrificing sleep was not at all what I wanted to do. It wasn't that I didn't want to meet with the Lord each day; I just really loved to sleep. However, this has been the best thing for me, providing the most effective tool I have in bringing a holy balance to my life.

Meeting with God, having His plan, and obeying it will put your mind at ease. With the sacrifice you are willing to make, God allowed the truth of Psalm 127:26 to settle in your heart: "He gives sleep to those He loves." Let it settle in your heart and life too. Rest assured, He loves you. Remember He sent His Son to die so you would have eternal life. With that same love, He will bless you with sleep especially when you give it up for Him.

Obedience is the key to having the peace of God.

When you have done it His way, at the end of your day, you will lay you head down on your pillow knowing you've honored God. Obedience brings peace of mind and rest you will cherish.

Do You Believe?

So a man thinks, so He will be .

In the world today, we are bombarded with information from many different sources: social media, radio, television, school, church, books, and magazines, to name a few. It has been said and widely accepted that "knowledge is power,” but with so many sources of knowledge and information out there how can we be certain we re choosing our knowledge base wisely?

From what sources do you draw your knowledge? The way you answer that question should provide great insight into what you believe about life, God, and your circumstances. God gave us the unique ability to reason and choose our thought pattern unlike any of His other creations. Because thoughts and beliefs exist before actions, we know our individual thought life leads the way to our individual behaviors. God gave us the free will to think and believe however we choose.

Websters defines knowledge as “knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association.” God’s desire is that we would be filled with His knowledge that we would be familiar with Him, experience Him, and associate with Him through His Word. and therefore guard us against knowledge sources that could harm His plan tor our lives

As Solomon points Out in Proverbs, our deepest knowledge will directly shape who we become. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he (Pro. 23:7).

When you truly seek the knowledge of God, Jesus, and the power of the cross, you can rest in His Word and promises for Your life. He has the power to work in all things according to His Word.

If you believe that knowledge is power then please choose your knowledge source wisely.

aid for by God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Peace is not an option with God, for His Son paid for it to be in your life. We have peace with God when we have peace in Jesus. He paid for everything! All sin, all rejection, all sickness, everything you face today, good or bad, God has the answer. Let His peace be the umpire of your life. 14 For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us (Ephesians 2:14 KJV).

Muhammad, they bring fear and discomfort. God is true peace. His Holy Spirit is the Comforter, and nothing can separate you from His love . (Romans 8:35 MSG ). 35 Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ's love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:

ncourages, us to go on. In spite of conflict, we can have peace. We have a sense God is with us. He is here to guide, to comfort, and to love through the best and the worst of times.

In Greek the meaning for peace is to be at quietness, rest, or to set as one again. There may not be absence of war in your life right now; but your soul, mind, will, and emotions will not be moved; as you put your trust in Jesus Christ. You will know whatever comes or goes, Christ is with you! He will direct your life for such a time as this; when you allow His peace be the umpire of your life, your can have assurance trouble or fear will not steal you peace of God.

No matter what, God’s peace is always here!

It Came Upon A Midnight Clear

Luke 2:8-14 (NIV)
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Last week the Lord-awaken me to say “it came upon a midnight clear”, over and over and again in my prayer time, I kept hearing this phrase? I was intrigued, so I looked up the history of the song. Only to find it was not a song at all but a poem later put to music. As I read the history of this what was first a poem, then a song, I realized in the depth of man's despair, God wanted to make himself real to the writer of the poem, Edmund Sears. Some 200 years later this song inspired by despair of the times, still is bringing hope of peace and the spirit of God is speaking. And yes, God can still today speak to even those who do not believe, to receive revelation of the true Messiah and King.

God is still looking to change lives no matter what background of religious belief, when you are seeking the truth and have no hope the Hope of Glory will display His splendor which will pick you up from the depths of brokenness to show you the glory of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This commonly sang carol, which does not mention the birth of Christ, the focus is rather on the song of the angels, in Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.The context of this poem later put to music sheds an awesome light on the goodness of God and the prophetic message of the spirit of peace in birth of Jesus, with insight of the man, Edmund Sears, who wrote it.

As a Massachusetts native Edmund Hamilton Sears (1810-1876) earned a degree from Harvard Divinity School and was ordained a Unitarian minister in 1839, serving congregations throughout Massachusetts.

First, let’s set the scene of what is now known as one of the most sang Christmas Carols on the earth. Edmund Sears was a Unitarian Pastor. At this point, Mr. Sears was at the lowest ebb of his life; he was depressed, hopeless, and feeling there was nothing for him but a place of despair, his words, “I was near a nervous breakdown”!

Just like Mr. Sears at our deepest despair or even our greatest accomplishments, God desires to reveal His love, hope, and peace to ALL mankind, no matter if one has or has not received the Lord as their savior? He can take the broken pieces of life to produce not only a beautiful poem but a song of hope, but inspiration for generations to come!

As a Unitarian Edmund Hamilton Sears believed Jesus did not claim to be God and his teachings did not suggest the existence of a triune God. Unitarians did believe in the moral authority, but not the divinity of Jesus. Their theology is thus opposed to the trinitarian theology of other Christian denominations.

The writings about Edmund Sears does not expose the personal reasons of what brought him to this place of anguish or emotional pain. Like today there were many things happening in the world which brought unrest. Yet, at his place of feeling lost and life having little or no meaning, he had an encounter with the Holy Spirit, whom not only revealed Himself to Edmund, but changed his heart to believe in Jesus the Messiah and the triune Godhead.

Edmund Sears, though a Unitarian, wrote in Sermons and Songs of the Christian Life (1875), He said: “Although I was educated in the Unitarian denomination, I believe and preach the Divinity of Christ.” It is said by John Julian, a editor of the Dictionary of Hymnology, an important British reference work at the turn of the 20th century, offered high praise for Sears’ two Poems which became Christmas hymns (the other being the lesser-known “Calm on the listening ear of night”), calling them some of the best in the English language.

Dr. Hawn, a professor of sacred music at Perkins School of Theology says this, “It is right that we should joyfully sing “Hark! The herald angels sing” and “Joy to the world” each Christmas season. But always, there are moments when we realize the message of peace has not yet been fully realized on earth. Then we sing, “It came upon the midnight clear, and the power of the Incarnation and the message of the gospel touch us even more deeply.“

With all the pain, unrest, and tragedy we see around the world today, as you read or sing this amazing poem, may you feel as Edmund Sears felt, yet when he met the overwhelming peace of God which the Angels sang about, he could cont deny the presence of the true Messiah and King, Jesus! In your darkest night, may the Spirit of Christmas become the brightest light in Christ and may His peace fill your heart and mind as you too say with the Angels, "It came upon a midnight clear, peace on earth and goodwill to all mankind.

Allow everything in your life to give praise to God!

there is nothing too hard, nothing too big, and nothing to insurmountable that your God cannot heal you from the inside out. He is asking you today to praise Him in the storms of life and in the triumphs. Will you praise Him no matter what life brings your way? Will you love Him no matter what is given or taken away? Will you give God glory when your feelings say “I cannot do this on my own another day?” Is He your God; is He Lord of everything?

Is He truly the source of strength in your life to where you will say, in all this, I will trust, obey, and give God praise at all times? Faith does not go by feelings; it goes by God’s word and all He has promised. Today, are you determined to praise God in all things for HIS glory? You can do all things, which God gives you, as you place your hope in Him. His Word for His word will not return void to those who truly believe.

The wisdom of God will produce in the person He created His children; worship Him in spirit and truth. No weapon formed can prosper when a Child of God puts their trust in the work of the Cross of Calvary through Christ Jesus. Shout joyfully to the Lord!! Praise Him!!

Determined Devotion

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Col. 4:2 (NIV)

Many times maybe you like me make your requests known to God out of what we feel we need. Yet God is more concerned about our lives being devoted to His call and will, which should bring glory to Him and expand the Kingdom of God! For He says He will meet all my needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19

I pray as believers, we will be devoted entirely to Him in all our life and more in our daily prayers. When we pray, may it not be for what we want or need, but to know Him for who He is, not just for what He gives. Jesus may we know You for who you are, to seek Your face not Your hands for what you give! Forgive us for the times we just wanted to be taken care of instead of taking time to sit in your presence to soak in your love and word.

Sulk or Soar

“You have a choice today, maybe things didn’t go your way, life did not treat you fair! As a Christian things didn’t go as they were supposed to? Maybe as a Christian you feel defeated? Maybe you feel like you thought you did everything right, for things to all go so completely wrong?”

Today I feel God is asking you, are you going to sulk, or are you going to soar? It’s your choice today, to trust again or will you wallow in the pain of disappointment?

In spite of your difficulty, in spite of the setbacks, are you willing to choose to soar or you are you going to choose to sulk? God did not pay for you to fail, He paid for you to soar, move upward, but you have to get up and choose to move forward and upward. Move in His will, Word and Way, today!

Jesus Christ loves you right where you are in all your pain and disappointments, but he never died for you to stay there in it!

The power of his death on the cross paid for you to be more than a conqueror; for you to arise and shine and to allow his light to come into your disappointment; as you begin to soar to be all He created you to be!

He loves you so much He does not want you to sulk, when He called you to soar! He has made a way where there seems to be no way, will you chose to soar today?

The Power of Your Words

Words are powerful!! They can be a weapon for good and bad. Speak powerful God words over your life! Claim these things in the name of Jesus! There is power in the tongue. Your words are an example of whats in your heart. Words have been formed in our minds.

Where is your faith?? Your speech tells the truth about your attitude and your trust in God. What are you saying? Are you speaking as if you know and trust your heavenly Father? The Word of God formed everything we love and have today; Gods words created and produce power in our lives.

1) Faith words build up a Godly life and destroys Satan’s lies!!

2) What we believe and say we receive!

22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Believing comes by hearing, receiving comes by speaking.

So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

3) Having a Christ like heart will produce righteous results.

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Luke 6:45

You complained it your way! The Father listens and hears all words not just good ones but all words we speak!!

When one is faced with attacks from the devil, it is important to remember God has given us everything we need to overcome Satan, the world, and the temptation of it! Jesus and His Word will be the power and weapon needed to see the victory prevail.

The TouchPoint Bible says, "In order to be effective on the battlefield a soldier must be both well trained and properly equipped. The warrior must be alert for surprise attacks; so it is in our spiritual battle with Satan. Determined to destroy our faith by leading us into sin and discouragement, Satan attacks with blatant temptation and deceptive lies. The Bible teaches that the best weapon for this warfare in the Word of God and prayer."

This is important. No matter what happens, God's faithfulness will prevail over evil and strengthen you so that you can endure after such a time as this, His mercy will endure for you.

Are You Being Tested?

God wants to visit you and refresh you each and every moment of your life. He wants to be with you and to move in you for His glory. He is not wanting to play hiding go seek with His children. Why does God test people? Sometimes because of disobedience, or lack of faith, or because He has a greater work to do in you and for you. Most of all there is always greater things for God to do if He tests you. He desires to build our faith in Him, He wants His children to realize He is giving us the answers before the test comes. God is wanting us to pass the test for HIS glory to grow in our faith.

Five ways to pass the Test of Faith!

Leaning on the everlasting arms doesn't mean God does all the work. Leaning on the everlasting arms means you are trusting God in every area of your life for HIS glory to come to the Father Son and the Holy Ghost!

Jeremiah 29:11-12 (NIV) 11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

Have you allowed doubt and the devil to shut doors of opportunities and blessings in your life?

Listen Carefully... I know He has a plan for your life, but do YOU know He has a plan for your life?

We can be so caught up in the pain and stress of life that we miss the voice of God. The only way to reach your destiny in Christ is to hear and obey His Word, His voice.

God desires to speak life and more abundant life to you as you spend time with Him. Listen and hear His plan and direction for your life here on this earth.

This is so crucial - listening and obeying the voice of God is the key to deliverance, breakthrough, miracles, and prosperity. Your destiny and life, the life which Christ paid for, is in hearing what the Spirit of God is saying to you and the Church universal. You CAN and WILL be all God created you to be for HIS glory in Jesus name!

What voice have you been listening to ? What , or maybe I should ask, who has hindered you from being all God created you to be? I know for sure God is not the one. Satan may be the one, or could it be our own self keeping you from your destiny?

Many Christians love to blame Satan for what is not happening in their lives, but from my experience most of the time it is more likely an excuse than blame. The Garden was the first place the blame game started. Satan duped the woman into believing she could be like God if she would eat of the forbidden tree, when in fact she already was, because she knew no evil, no sin, no shame, no rejection and no pain. Adam and Eve were taken care of with every care of the world. She could eat from every other tree but the Tree of Life. God said, “of this one you are not to eat”. She wanted because she believed a lie that she was not like God.

The first time man rejected God’s direction was the first time man would know shame( In The Garden Of Eden). Shame could not come until there was sin in man’s heart. Then, not only did man and woman have shame but they had fear before they walked with God in the cool of the day.

Who told you that you were naked? Who told you that you would never reach your destiny - your created purpose in God and His Word? Whose lies have you believed to think you can never reach the plans, purpose and destiny God has for you?

I am here to tell you … YOU can be all God created, planned and purposed you to be ! No matter where you have been, what you have or have not done, what someone else might have done to you, decree that you will be all God has called, anointed and appointed you to be for His glory!

I have achieved many goals in life, including personal, ministry and business. All of them will pass away, however, the only thing which will remain is the Spiritual seeds that produce life after God’s kind. God is not as interested in your destiny on earth as much as He desires you to have relationship with HIM. The God of the universe desires to walk with you (leading and guiding you), to talk with you and produce through you for His glory.

Try Putting Yourself in Their Shoes

Are we listening for the cries of the needy?

Before you judge someone based on their need, put yourself in their shoes. Years ago there was a TV show called Dragnet, a detective show. When the two detectives went to a crime scene, they would only want "just the facts.” When God speaks a word to help, he is not like this TV show, He is like a Father, take care of the need and ask questions later. Many times He will not give you the facts, for this would cloud your heart whether the person really is in need or not.

If you were in need right now and needed someone to help, how would you feel if they ask you to fill out a questionnaire to see if you were fit for help? I know in our systems in church or business we desire to have everything done in excellence. However, can I ask you, when was the last time you really did something for someone not expecting one thing back from it? On the other hand, what about a time when you saw a need and did something about it because of true compassion?

Somehow, in the art of learning, growing, and finding our destiny along the way it seems we have lost the real meaning of loving and serving Jesus. Matthew 18:27 KJV Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

Nowhere in the scriptures do I ever see Jesus ask someone in need how did you end up here? How much money did you make, or even did someone just help you? No, when Jesus met people he loved them, served them, met their needs, and then informed them on how to live a life pleasing to the Father. He always took care of their natural need to bring them to a place of higher living for His glory. Put yourself in their shoes.

My heart is not to see and know the need, but do nothing; it is to serve God, serve others, and let God deal with the real issues of their lives. The Word of God says it is the goodness of God that leads men to repentance. How will anyone ever know the goodness of God if you and I don't serve, love and take care of those not capable of doing it for themselves? If it is within your sphere of influence to help, when God instructs, it is not your place to judge, it is your place to serve. God will take care of the rest.

Put yourself in their shoes. In your time of need, how have you been treated? How do you want to be treated? God is a lover of souls, and He takes care of each one. What is God asking you to do today to help someone in need? Truly expecting nothing in return, but serving from a heart of gratitude. God will not ask you to do more than you can, but He may want to stretch you to the next level. Put yourself in their shoes!

Right or Righteous?

A righteous man can be trusted to act honorably regardless of the circumstances, where he is, who he is front of, or what he is asked to do. Righteousness is not an outward act for others to see but an inward response of the Creator God who has called one out of darkness into His glorious light.

Righteousness does not come from being right, it comes from God through His Son’s work on the Cross of Calvary and given to every believer who desires to live by God’s righteousness. Righteous living brings God’s truth with conviction and freedom from sin and the Law. Living under the Law will bring a life of guilt and shame with condemnation with no way out of the consequence of sin.

There are times our hearts do not feel like they are upright, yet we have to choose to praise anyway! Our feelings our not the measure of our faith, the Cross-, Jesus and His Redemption is what we measure our faith by. If you will start praising God in spite of your feelings, you will see His Righteousness bring strength for the journey and your feelings will catch up to your faith.

Forgiveness is not a feeling, it is an act of your will toward others and yourself. Failure is not forever, its for a moment, time or season. However, then you ask for God to bring HIS Righteous Law into your life, you will see the burden of the sin, the guilt of the act or the shame of the past start to dissipate. God’s goodness and love brings His Life, Light, and Love once again into your heart and mind.

By faith praise God in Uprightness because Jesus paid for your freedom. Even if you do not feel like it yet, trust God your feelings will catch, up to your faith in God, His love, and word your praise will bring you out of guilt and shame into freedom and destiny!

Offerings Vs Tithe

The Seed you sow is the Seed you grow???

Offerings are different from the Tithe; God requires the tithe as an act of obedience in the Christians life. The offering is an act of our free will to deem something valuable enough to give into it or support it with our free will funds. God gives us the ability to make, acquire and control money in our lives. When a person tithes they are displaying belief in God's word and relationship to Him as Father.

Offerings can display the inward heart attitude. As we give we can expect God to continue to meet our needs. A believer who gives what is required from God will never be forsaken. As we obey God's Word there will never be a time in our lives He will not take care of every need we will ever face.

The tithe is commanded by God, the offering is a choice of your will. Man's will can be a strange bird when it comes to letting go of funds not required by God. A person must decide to release or hold on to their seed. We can decide to bless or to hold back? The choice is yours??

The will is centered in the soul of man, (the mind, will and emotions). When God ask of His children to give, He will give more back than one could ever imagine. We should never give out of need but out of our love for God.

Once one can grasp the power behind the blessing in an offering, they will search out ministries to bless. Tithes are needed to operate the church, but the offerings fund ministries and benevolence around the world. It is not about a natural return, but the supernatural change in lives!

I pray today you will see the blessing of tithing and free will offerings in your life. You are invited by God to invest into the Kingdom of God, to share in the spreading the Good News and changing lives around the world.

Living in the Center of God's Will

When I see someone swerving in and out of lanes of traffic, I immediately go into defensive driving mode. Whether the person is in road rage, drunk, or just plain careless, I know they are dangerous. My Daddy always taught us when we were learning to drive; to stay behind someone like this, then you would know what he is up to. Satan the enemy of your soul needs to be kept in eyesight to know what he is doing.

When you know the will of God, you will know the enemy and his tactics. What about you? When you begin to swerve in and out of your spiritual life, are you aware of it? When you start to allow things that are of question to God's honor, and you begin to swerve, are you aware? Are you accountable to others that speak into your life to get you back on track?

When you're accountable, you are teachable! The Holy Spirit desires to guide you into all truth before you fall. Satan desires to have God's children make wrong choices; this gives him a weapon to use against you throughout your day. Nevertheless, God has come to give you life and give it more abundantly. Find someone you can trust, make yourself accountable to God first, then to a Godly friend.

In our world today, there are many distractions that can draw us away from the word, to get us sidetracked from God's heart and will.

Temptation is appealing to the eye; in truth, the Bible tells us sin is pleasant for a season, but then judgment comes. God's heart (direction) for each of us is to be in the center of His will. Obedience aligns us with God's Word, which is His will for us.

Be alert in your surroundings; be aware of the twisted truth that comes your way. Be accountable to God and man for who you are as a Christian. Focus on bringing God honor in each and everything you do and say. This is where your life will produce His life for others to taste, touch, and see the love of God.

Obedience Brings Blessing!

Many times I have heard ministers say God is calling us, usually it’s to the next new thing on the horizon-- to obey, to hear, to respond, and give, as never before. I want to tell you this right here and right now, God has never changed what He has wanted from His children!

We have changed what we give to God but God has and will always want from us- His offspring, to come to Him whether we are in need or on the mountain He is calling us to Him as He did Adam and woman, He is still calling, can you hear His voice?

At this moment God is calling as He did in the Garden of Eden for each one of us to draw near to Him, to follow in His foot steps to see His will for our lives. Obedience is not optional with God it is commanded and it will bring a blessing.

If obedience brings a blessing then disobedience must bring a curse, sin, sadness and most of all defeat. God is calling all His children out of the darkness of the yesterday. He will bring us into the glorious light of His love, light, and life in the here and now.

**Your act of obedience is someone else’s miracle in the making.**

There are many voices calling out to you and me. The true voice of God will lead you into life, joy and peace in the Holy Ghost. It may not be the easy road but it will be the road to which leads to Life and life more abundantly. Discernment will guard you as God directs your path into His perfect will. Before you step out ask God is this the way should I walk in? Before you speak ask God is this what you would have me say?
